Palm Sunday marked the visit of the Bishop of Southampton to bless and commission the new church heating system.
The Parish assembled at Fairweathers Garden Centre, with the Beaulieu Band and a donkey. On arrival of the Bishop, palms were distributed and a hymn was sung. After this some 80 people proceeded around the village to the village garage. There was a reading and a further hymn. Stepping deftly out into the main road, the Bishop and the Vicar of Beaulieu led the congregation back to the Church. An amusing and engaging sermon was preached by Bishop Jonathan, encouraging us to live life on the edge! ( edge of your seat ). The service finished in beautiful sunshine on the warmest day of the year and as the Bishop commented "Just the right weather to commission a heating system!"
